WOOD CHIPS: The are waste that can be utilized for making electricity. The disadvantage is that the Utility companies are lobbying to stop all competition.
USED GREASE: Can be simply used to make Biodiesel to run vehicles and stationary engines. The disadvantage is that Big Oil is lobbying to eliminate all competition!

(1) Sunlight
-- Advantage: Once you have the equipment, it's free, and there's no limit to it.
-- Disadvantage: Not good on cloudy days, and would take way too much to power a vehicle (weight would be prohibitive). However, it can be practical for home/industrial use.
(2) Hydrogen fuel cells
-- Advantage: Only exhaust from hydrogen-powered vehicles are drops of plain water.
-- Disadvantage: Must be handled properly or is extremely flammable/explosive (however, development of fuel cells is already making it safe to use, even now)

Wind energy. Advantage is their is no pollution created by the turbines Greenhouse gass free!!!. Disadvantage hazardous to birds flying, and need quite a few to produce amountable energy and wind is not always constant
Biomass, Hog barns produce alot of manure this can be burned to create energy. The advantage is you use a resource that is considered a waste and make energy from it. Disadvantage is it still emits carbon dioxide

wind power: advantage uses at natural source of energy that will never run out.
Disadvantage: personally i dont think this is a problem but some people think they r to noisy.
Geothermal energy: advantage same as above uses earths natural energy.
Disadvantage can only be used in certain parts of the worlds mainly greenland

Bio-diesel fuel make from fry oil from restaurants.
It is cheap.
Downside is it still emits CO2 which is a green house gas.

The Brazilians drive their cars on methane derived from sugar cane if i got that right. At least one manufacturer makes specially adapted cars for the Brazillian market (think its VW)
