I hear so much arguing and people trying to make points, but would anyone actually be willing to have an open mind to the other person's point of view or is it all a pi$$ing match to put others beliefs down?

I try to keep an open mind. Most people are decent enough where the jerks and flamers tend to spoil everything by ticking everybody off.

But to answer your question, if somebody made a good point, there's potential to change my mind. It can't be just any good point. Lots of good points have been made on here, but they weren't enough to change my mind. It has to be a convincing point to get me to change my mind, not just a good point.

Anyone can make a good point. It takes someone with politeness, respect, and knowledge to make a truly convincing point.

There are persons changing their minds and religious views/affiliations every day. Not nescesarily from reading anything in these forums but due to a work that is going on as prophesied at
Matt 24:14
And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

There are more Trolls then people on the forums, sad to say.

Most likely not. The only persons who may change their minds are those searching for explanation. All others deeply rooted in their beliefs, tend more to be unyielding to change. This of course is not all that significant, for people can only grasp concepts suited for their evolutionary level. As an individual evolves, they will seek more knowledge, and a more logical explanation for things, as well, they will have more tolerance for others views, and not feel threatened by new concepts.

I will never change my mind about the truth I know about God. I am a follower of christ and there's NOTHING that will ever cause me to turn back. I guess in some cases that goes for athiests to. I am not religious, I think there's a big difference between being religious and believing.

I really enjoy good arguments for atheism. I even have a few books of atheist literature and read several atheist philosophers. Unfortunately, most discussion here is petulant and silly, just mocking ideas without fully engaging with them. I guess that is all that can be expected in this format, because a good argument takes a few pages to flesh out.

I'd consider another person's ideas. But let's be honest here, the lack of credible evidence of a god makes atheism a far and away superior argument.

I will always believe in God,however, debating makes me stronger in my belief.
It challenges what I know about my bible.
I also like to see if maybe I missed something or atheists can prove my bible wrong.
So,I am here for testing my beliefs.
So far,no-one has given sufficient evidence for disproving my faith.
God Bless

No one will ever convince me there is no God. I have never convinced anyone that God exists. I have helped those who are unsure. As a Christian, you can only speak of God's Grace to let it be known. People will believe what they want. That's free will.

God Bless and Merry Christmas.

How would such a thing happen? That is, how would you know if somebody changed their mind? It does seem like the majority of questions here are rhetorical.

I learn new things on here that support my beliefs in evolution and the big bang. Learning is changing.
