i had windows xp as my os and changed it to linux and it is a load of crap. i installed it on my hard drive, is there any way of changing it back to xp without buying xp all over again.

Absolutely! Use Linux to delete the partition(s) that it uses and then simply take your restore disk or Windows XP cd and use that to reinstall Windows.

When you installed Linux you wiped all traces of XP off the hard drive, if you want it back you need to reinstall it using a proper Windows XP disc.

you should have a CD master disk that came with the computer if not the get on to the people you got it from and get them to send you a copy,

What version of linux did you install on your computer,,

and the answer to your question is depending on how you installed your linux the answer could be yes you can get back to windows if you did a windows partition shrink. but you will need to know alot about hard drive systems
