get a polish gf/bf that's willing to teach you, if you live alone, advertise for a polish lodger they're fantastic, i've had a few myself & the guys and the girls are really good at doing up the house & all that.

it seems that every polish national person knows their way around professional DIY & other odd jobs that us British are so famous for botching up.

Plus they are genuine & nice people...

if all those are not an option then just get a CD & a dictionary & do it the ol' fashioned way.

That is if you can't afford to really put your foot/head in it & go to Poland

I have a couple of Polish mates and it seems to be a mania with them to teach anyone and everyone their language, if you are serious I will ask them if they would be prepared to enter into an e-mail correspondence course with you.
