Well this sucks for soldiers. Democrats always say how they will help the soldiers but they never do. A lot of people aren't going to have what they need in Iraq now, and their paycheck is going to be smaller. What do you think?

To Iamct01

I would rather sound like Fox News than CNN, if you know what I mean. I dont get my information from the news, my dad is an E9 in the Army.

To those of you who are against what I said-

I guess our troops will have even less now that democrats are running everything.

I agree, history proves this theory. Maybe, just maybe, we'll be suprised. Our brave men and women in uniform will stand fast and survive through this congress as they always have, but when you are in a giving mood, remember to send a soldier letters, cookies, whatever, just to let them know we still love them, even when their congress doesn't appear too.

Ow. My head.
If your father is an E9 why wouldn't you classify your father as Seargant Major? Don't know, that just seems weird.
Anyway, the democrats may or may not give the troops a raise or a pay cut. We can't know that. Though, we can know that the republicans have consistently underfunded this effort while Republican run companies such as haliburton take money from the soldier themselves. In 2003 (I believe) Haliburton was investigated for charging to much for meals provided to the army.
In the end it isn't about party lines, what the troops get. And it never will be. I wish people would stop seeing it as a red/blue issue. Neither the red nor the blue has the troops best interest at heart, they have their own interest at heart. Period.

The party that screws the troops is whichever is in power. Both parties have expanded our international obligations, and the political debate should rightly be there.
Our active-duty military and our military spending, especially as a percent of GDP, have been shrinking for a long time. The only partial exception was the Reagan administration. And the people of the U.S. vote to have their cake and eat it, too, so we're all to blame.
There are very few who think we should be strictly isolationist. Even in the 1930's we had Marines on Hispanola doing essentially what they're now doing in Anwar Province.

Yep, the Democratic party sold the American people a bill of goods, and now we are going to pay for it for the next couple of years. It will take that long for the populace to realize what a bunch of dumb schmucks they were by returning the Dems to power.

May I ask what planet you have been living on?
Do you not know that the republican congress and the republican secretary of defense have been under-supplying our troops in Iraq ever since we went there? That they're short on critical supplies, body armor, ammunition, armored vehicles, and nearly everything else? That billions and billions paid to "support companies" such as Halliburton have been quasi-legally embezzled by those companies, and they never delivered proper supplies to our troops? Are you really so out of it that you don't know about any of this??

All of that for the past 3 years, and all you can do is post some rush limbaugh-inspired idea that "liberals are bad for our troops." You're uninformed, ignorant, and brainwashed. Wake up and get some real information, honey.

The problem with the majority of democrats is that they were handed everything, so they have no problem handing it back out, to their own club. Meanwhile, I'm working by tail off trying to make a living defending my country.

Please give us some evidence of Democrats not helping soldiers. What people aren`t going to have what they need and smaller paycheck? Soldiers? You sound like Fox news with all the "Some people say" and "I heard that"

I remember watching Hannity and Colmes when Pat Buchanon called conservative politicians cowards for coninuing to fund the war. I guess the only way to bring home the troops(which almost everyone wants) is to stop funding the war.
