So... "Jesus loves you" but only if you're straight, right?
That's rediculous.
God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit love everyone, from the lowliest murderer to the innocent child. He loves Gays, Bisexuals, and Transgendered peopls as much as He loves any "normal" narrowminded person.
So to be a true Christian, we must open our hearts to all peoples and love them as God loves us. And leave the judging to Him.
I don't see how one can insist that God is upset with people who are gay. Or that being gay is wrong.
I guess there isn't much of a question here, I just wanted some feedback.
And in case anyone is wondering, I am straight and a Catholic.

But why is it wrong? Didn't God creat us just the way He wants us to be? Isn't it said he knows every heair on our heads when we are still in the womb? Why would He create someone to do something "wrong"?

It's a sin to love someone and want to express that physically? Sex is supposed to be our taste of heaven on earth. Why would God create someone and deny them that sacred pleasure?
THe ills of homosexuality are mentioned what, 3 times in the bible? Wouldn't it be there more often if God was really worried about it? And the bible was written by humans, inspired by God I know, but still human. Humans are fallible and the authors' own biases can be in the Bible.

People are afraid, truly. Its different, and strange. And sadly, I don't think anything will ever change their minds. However, a new generation is dawning. Now, its not, "Ew, you're gay?" or, "God don't like gays" Its, "I got a cousin who's gay" or "Some of my friends or gay" or "My mom's gay". Things are changing, albiet a bit slowly..but still, they're changing. So...just....hold on there....just a bit longer.

I want to be very specific in the answer, so I will use the bible (Christian bible) as my reference. [Be prepared to get out your bible.]
God man a covenant with Israel and in this covenant there are 613 commandments, one specifically forbidding same sex relationships. It says nothing about being a homosexual. You can find the 613 commandments in the first five book of Moses (Torah) which Jews of today follow (if possible).
There is a second covenant given to first the Jews and then Gentiles (non-Jews). You will see this when Paul first presents Jesus' message to the Jews and then to the Gentiles. What is the restriction given in this second covenant? You will find it in 1 Cor 10:23-24. [Yes will need to read this for yourself.]
As a Catholic, you are well aware that the Catholic Church forbids same sex relationships. This is not based on the bible, but on other sources. The Vatican has been extremely consistent this point as stated in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, articles 2357-2359. In footnote 140, they cite Gen 19:1-29; Rom 1:24-27; 1 Cor 6:10; 1 Tim 1:10 as justification of this restriction.
My answer this question uses biblical methods. The bible is consistent and without error. It interrupts itself. When there is contradiction, we need to use what we have, not something else. If 1 Cor 10:23-24 is the Christian (not Catholic) restriction, then what about these other verses. Start with this restriction and see how the others verses fit (or don't fit). Then examine the Church’s position and see if that fits or doesn’t fit.
Answer: God, not man, judges. In this case, you are blaming God for the action of men.

I agree that Jesus loves every one not just straight people but having sex with a member of the same sex is however still a grievous sin. In fact having sex with any one with out the bond of marriage is a grievous sin. Having a sexual attraction towards the the same gender does not make that person a sinner. My heart goes out to all those who have that as a burden to carry and I for one do not judge those who have gave into those attractions. My burdens are all I can handle and sometimes more. I do know that if I was burdened with that problem I would not be strong enough, so I would never judge those as bad who have gave into those feelings.

God loves all. It never says anywhere someone is born gay. Obviously you believe that but that has no scriptural backing. God created man and women so they could leave their parents and be joined together. Why? Because this is God's desire that man and women should be joined. Not man and man, or women and women. Man and women together are the only combination that have the ability to make babies and have all body parts fit together so that process is possible. If God thought it was okay for man and man or women and women to be together than He would have created them to have the same ability straight people have. No is one is born a porn addict or alcoholic, but many people are. The same with gays, they might have a emotional problem starting off when they were young, but they weren't born that way. Most pychologist state that most gays are gay because of an issue with their father. Anyways i hope this explains things to you.

Obviously, you don't know much about the Bible.
And you are dealing with THREE separate issues here.
1. The love of God for everyone. John 3:16 clearly supports this, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life". Yes, that means that God loves even the rapist-murderer, gays, alcoholics, average church member.
2. There are sins that God vehemently condemns, including sexual immorality (among straight), homosexuality, bestiality, etc. John 14:15 says, "If you love me keep my commandments". Sure, God loves all but how many of THEM love God and demonstrate that by keeping His commandments?
3. Judging others. Where do you get the notion that we are NOT to judge one another? Read your Bible carefully and you will find out that judging here means to condemn others without evidence. If I have the evidence that a certain young lady in my community is very promiscuous, would I encourage my younger brother to marry her if she hasn't shown that she has changed for the better? I think not.

Let's examine the scripture Rom. 1:26-28,
"For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. "
You interpret that to mean that man with man is wrong. However, I interpret it to mean just what it says :"leaving the natural affection" If their was no natural affection how could I leave it?
This is meant to chastise those who go against the natural way God created them. You could reverse it and it would still have the same meaning. "If a man leaves his natural affection for another man and burns in desire for a woman"
Or you could look at it like this. How many straight men will let another guy give them a ********? They left their natural affection for a woman to go for sex with a man. That my friends is unnatural.
If a gay man went to bed with a woman just to try it out or to fulfill an obligation to have children. This is wrong too. But certainly this passage is not meant to be used to say that gay is a sin.
If there is no natural affection for a woman, a man can not lose it. It's not there. This was meant to be the way that you should keep relationships monogamous and stable. Don't try to push your interpretation on me, I just don't buy it.
If it means to say that all gay relationships are wrong, why doesn't it come right out and say it. To add the Leave the natural affection makes it have a completely different meaning.

Yes, God does love whom He created. However, He hates sin. The act of homosexuality is a sin. Read Romans chapters 1:27 "And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their ERROR which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those thigs which ARE NOT conveinant. Just because we may not agree with homosexuality as being wrong, that it's just a lifestyle doesn't mean that God does.

You are mostly right. God loves every human. This is why he sent Jesus to earth to die for our sins. However, forgiveness for our sins is only given to those who are repentant for them. A practicing homosexual is clearly not sorry for sinning against God.
The Bible is very clear about homosexual relations. Romans 1:26, 27 says "That is why God gave them up to disgraceful sexual appetites, for both their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature; and likewise even the males left the natural use of the female and became violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males, working what is obscene and receiving in themselves the full recompense, which was due for their error."
The Bible calls what they do obscene. God hates the sin, not the sinner. There are people in my religion that have homosexual tendencies, but do not act on them since they know how God feels about it. I show my love to everyone by bringing them the truth in God's Word from house to house every week. Love is evident through actions, not words. The fact that a Catholic is defending something directly condemned in the Bible is sadly unsurprising.

The answer is simple: the Bible says a lot of times that homosexuality is a sin. The real christians accept gays, lesbians... but they don't agree with the choice they made. The fact that you're a christian doesn't mean that you hate them. I'm a christian and I have a lot of friends that are gay. If someone that calls himself a christian hates and judges gays, he shouldn't be called one; just remember: God is love.

Oh but didn't you know? It's in the Bible. It's amazing how people can always find evidence for their argument in the Bible, no matter how ridiculous the argument is. I heard one guy saying that there was evidence in the Bible that the tsunami happened to wipe out Scandinavian tourists because Scandinavians are sympathetic to homosexuals. Did this dude forget to take his medication or what?
People just abhor what they don't understand, and for many people it's easier to hide behind religion, rather than to address their own prejudices and fears.
By the way, there are cases of homosexuality in many species of animal besides humans. Are these animals sinners as well? I remind you that many of these animals are not able to read the Bible, so they are probably unaware.

In answer to your question - or statement - I agree that God loves everyone. The problem is that the Bible states that homosexuality is a sin. So is divorce. So is theft. So is lying. We can state that we don't think something is wrong all we want. The bottom line is that God is the one who determines right and wrong. Not me. I try to treat all people with the love that Christ has commanded us to show. However, I will not pretend that any behavior is right when God says it's wrong. I am not someone who goes up to people and tells them they are horrible or wrong because they sin. I'm a sinner too. If someone asks, I tell them what I believe. But I always treat everyone with respect and love in as much as it is possible for me to do so.
