holidays do not make you any closer to heaven, or God, it is how you react to them, I tend to rejoice more in the the birth of Jesus at Christmas, because it reminds me of his birth.
I tend to think more about the sacrifice of Jesus at Easter.
they are more milepost, that are reminders of the gifts that God has given us.

No. The day we celebrate Christmas isn't actually Christ's birthday. Theologists believe He was born sometime in the spring. Christmas is set at a pagan worship date, celebrating winter.

Even if it WAS the exact day of His Birth, you would still not be close to Heaven. Heaven is a yes or no kinda thing: if you're forgiven, when you die you go to Heaven. If you're not, you don't.

(According to the Bible, which you may take as you like)

Yes. Christmas time (and by that I mean December Holiday time for all of us, not specifically Christians) brings us all together in love and peace with our families and friends in the spirit of giving, sharing and joy. That brings us closer to "heaven" - it brings us closer to god - and it benefits humans as a whole race.

Peace!

Closer to heaven is only if you profess the Lord Jesus as your savior. Thats the only way to get closer and into heaven.

you cannot count on being religous during christmas to get you into heaven, you cannot be like oh its christmas im being good so i'll go to heaven. like the previous guy said, prayer will get you in, also, following the commandments, and doing nothing that you shouldnt be doing as well as being faithful to god.

I'd have to say no because you probably still do the same things through-out the year. This is just a time of celebration... there isn't really any magic-spirtuality attatched.
But I guess it would also depend on your beliefs and what you do to help your fellow man...
