When i cross referenced that scripture , it pointed to Proverbs 30; 12 that says "There is a generation that is pure in its own eyes, but that has not been washed from its own excrement." So i think what it's saying is that what men may think is right can actually be wrong, especially when people have no ethics or morals anymore.

He is talking about his life choices..........
Another translation reads:
"There exists a way that is upright before a man, but the ways of death are the end of it afterward" Proverbs 16:25
We, as humans, think we can make good decisions on our own...well, most of us do. We do have a God given conscience and must train that conscience with Godly standards or else we may fail to heed our conscience. Look at the world in general...are people searing their conscience with a branding iron or training it in ways of the True God?
"For whenever people of the nations that do not have law do by nature the things of the law, these people, although not having law, are a law to themselves. 15 They are the very ones who demonstrate the matter of the law to be written in their hearts, while their conscience is bearing witness with them and, between their own thoughts, they are being accused or even excused." -Romans 2:14-15
Also, I found a couple of paragraphs that explain Proverbs 16:25 in a wonderful light.
*******************
Although we inherit the faculty of conscience, that endowment is unfortunately flawed. Though mankind was given a perfect start, “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) Because we are marred by sin and imperfection, our conscience may be warped and may no longer function fully in the ways originally intended. (Romans 7:18-23) In addition, external factors can affect our conscience. It can be influenced by our upbringing or by local customs, beliefs, and environment. Surely the degraded morals and the falling standards of the world cannot be the standard of a good conscience.
A Christian, therefore, must have the additional assistance of the firm and righteous standards found in God’s Word, the Bible. These can guide our conscience to assess matters correctly and set them straight. (2 Timothy 3:16) When our conscience is enlightened according to God’s standards, it can better serve as a moral safety device, enabling us “to distinguish both right and wrong.” (Hebrews 5:14) Without God’s standards, our conscience may give us no warning when we stray into a bad course. “There exists a way that is upright before a man,” says the Bible, “but the ways of death are the end of it afterward.”—Proverbs 16:25; 17:20.

The path a person takes to prepare for Heaven may in his mind seem to be the correct one, but it will lead him to hell.
God knows the reality of every thing and how it is going to effect us. A person may choose a certain church, because it sounds like the right one. But it may change over time (or he did not know of errors that it had all along) and he is lead astray.
We need to let the Bible be the finale authority and seek God's own leading, for these will never lead astray.

Paths, there are many paths you to take in life.
The path of righteousness is straight.
Like a Plumb-bob pointing straight and true, so does God's Word.
Death is the second death, non-existence, or lake of fire.
Passengers in a flesh body on a road with many routes gaining knowledge, wisdom, and learning from instruction along the way of our journey. So what is the beginning of knowledge?
Pro.1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Christ gives us authority and to each their work. A watchman assimilates God’s Word and stays alert to sound the alarm.

That scripture ties in well with another found at Jeremiah 17:9 "“The heart is more treacherous than anything else and is desperate. Who can know it?" Our hearts can fool us into thinking that something is good, when it is in fact harmful. This is why we must follow God's commands in the Bible. The state the world is in is a direct result of people's independence from God and his beneficial commands.

Shalom Ken,
Its saying how man walks the broad path of destruction like what the people in this world do. Usually people move in mass groups because they feel its safe and its the right thing to do. Christians, Buddhists, Muslims, Atheists etc etc I think you can grasp what I'm saying. Basically they all think they are going in the right direction but all of their paths end with death.
Peace

I think it is saying that sometimes what the world says, what society says is right, is not always right in the eyes of God. If you follow everything society says then you won't be following God and in the end that will mean spiritual death and eternity without God.

The ways of the world are different than of God. Christians are not to conform to the ways of the world. The wages of sin is death. The world is sinful.

It means that man follows what he thinks is right in his own head but in the end goes to hell because he has made his own rules and rejected God's. Many people think that if they have the approval of the majority it is ok, for example homosexuality, that it is ok for them to live this way but in the end it is still wrong and they end up regretting it.
