I need to know what to buy from Sally's and how to apply it. I probably need something ashy because I'm toning down the brassiness of the bleach. Thanks!

u need to be careful with ashy toners they can turn your hair a gray to green looking color if you wind up not leaving it on long enough or leaving it on too long my best answer to u would be to get a beige toner and mix it with a little bit of a ash blonde that way u wont come out wrong i promise i did my sister's hair one Thanksgiving day and we were so afraid there would not be a store open that day but we found one drug store that had a beigey color and stayed away from the ashy color cause i had already turned it a gray to green color and my remedy fixed it. and i am a hairdresser of 27 years so....

How To Apply Hair Toner

It's called a "double process." First the hair is bleached and then the new color is added. If you want blonde hair, you must lighten your hair to a yellow stage, then apply a toner/color to achieve your color. It's difficult to bleach your hair by yourself, please let a friend help you with this method. You will find everything you need at the beauty supply store.

Next you will need a bleach packet with the liquid developer to make a creamy paste. It's best to use a 30-volume peroxide since you want to go blonde. Mix the developer and the bleach packet together until it's a creamy consistency, then apply it to your hair. When the shade of your hair is lightened to a yellow stage, thoroughly rinse your hair to remove all of the bleach. Next, shampoo and condition your hair and be sure to dry it. Then you will need to apply a toner or desired color. Good luck.

do not get a ash based toner, ask the sales associate to help you find a blue based toner to neutralize the brassiness. then apply following manufacturers directions
