I think the measure of their faith is equal - I just think Christians put their Faith in Jesus and God while Athiests put their faith into themselves and Science.
Peace!

At least with respect to belief in god, Atheists do not have faith. Faith is not necessary when you are willing to accept the verdict of the evidence.
To make this more clear, think about this: how much faith does it take to not believe in lime-green flying elephants? I don't believe in 'em, and my believing that there are no such things doesn't require any faith on my part.
Christians sometimes have faith, but as you can see on this site, relatively few of them do. Instead, they insist on pretending to have evidence. There are SOME Christians here who understand that faith-based belief means accepting that they do not have evidence, but it really looks like the majority simply aren't that honest.
To give a short answer: Christians have a little more faith, but most of them seem to entirely miss the role of faith in belief.

To believe in God takes faith. To live as a Christian takes faith. To be persecuted for what you believe takes faith.I don't think atheists have faith in the true sense of the word. If you look up faith on wikipedia you will see that faith is basically the belief is something with no scientific proof, etc, They have beliefs and opinions, but they don't have faith.....that's my opinion. Peace.

Can you call it a faith or trustworthiness NOT TO BELIEVE? What really are they having faith in and Idea?.....Not believing there is a God? how Ironic would that be? I think it would be easy not to believe because then you wouldn't have to think about Doing anything wrong right? hahahahah
I think it's more work and more faith in actually believing there is a God and being a Christan, then NOT!

Belief in the supernatural requires total faith were as belief in the natural requires none. All the atheist has to do is look around.

~~~ rawk ,,,, We atheists are not 'acting in faith' but some are ignorant to history and act on their Intuition,,, while those of us who have done extensive personal research of Comparitive Religion and Mythology have an Intellectual Understanding of the major shortcomings of these philosophies,,, and concur with Greater Minds than ours who have put these philosophies to task with Honest Scrutiny. By simple Deduction we find these philosophies unable to fulfill their claims, thus they rely all too often on their convenient Escape Clause to 'unanswerable questions',,, Faith.
More faith to be an atheist. Because they belief in something that has no spiritual, emotional, or physical value to them.
