I have a Sony CyberShot Camera...

Basically, whenever I take a picture it starts "recording" a still movie (i think) for 5 to 10 seconds..automatically!

I don't want that to happen..I just want a picture taken not a recording too!

How do I fix that?! It automatically happens.....

I don't understand your remark about a 'still movie' which is a contradiction in terms. Your camera does take mpeg movies (I don't know of what duration) You need to check to make sure you haven't set the camera to take such movies rather than still pictures. From the picture I'm looking at it seems to have a control wheel on the top - you may set the mode there or it may be in the menu - you really need to read the instruction book which will make it clear.
