My dear, you must know an awful lot of Church goers if you can generalise that MOST church goers are upper class snobs.
My church is full of everyday working class people, and in all the years I have been attending I have never seen an "upper class" person let alone an "upper class snob".
St Paul told his followers to "set their mind on heavenly things" - you can't blame church goers for trying to put into practise what they have been taught!

Just because people goto church hardly means they are rich. Im from a middle class Church of Christ and I know plenty of ppl (including us) that struggle just to have a place to live and a car to drive.

i can only speak for my own area but i cant think of any common class people who go to church ,apart from to the odd christening or funerals and Some old ladies who i think might go for something to do and a bit of company .seeing as there are no upper class people here (or middle class) the church doesnt have much of a congregation .sometimes people come to look at the church itself .because its a saxon church and hundreds of years old.

i no what you mean i live in front of a church and very sat night and Sunday morning the lane behind my house outside the church is filled with really expensive cars. and people in suits and very few in every day looking clothes. its strange isnt it.

thay are but the are not a lot of snobs in the uk because most do not go to church thay have got brains the ones who do not go to church it shows thay are not brainwshed
