My view of these pop up and competition web sites is that some may be legitimate. But ask yourself this question: why would anyone give stuff away for free? I think it is more likely that they are gathering data on you which they may sell on later. That is if they are legitimate! They would also be a great way for criminal organisations to do identity theft. As a general rule I always use a false date of birth and also change my name. With safe sites MSN etc. I always give a false D.O.B. If they do try to steel your identity it will be obvious where they got the info from. My advice keep away, you don't know what Trojans or keystroke bugs you may let in.

Yea free phone calls during my dinner from telemarketers, thats what i won, boy is it a treat... i always tell them i was just in it for the free stuff.. they laugh and go away

No one that I've ever heard about. I did one once, and now I get about 50 - 100 junk emails every, single day!

the more appealing the ad the more likely it will be clicked. get a pop up blocker that will sort it out

no they just give your computer a virus-- i tred it before and my computer never worked again
