I asked my mom to let me get my tongue pierced for christmas present....she said no even though she had hers done... I told that I researched it and that I know all about the cons and pros of tongue piercing and that she will here to guide me through it....How can I convince her to let me get it done??? I'm 14 by the way and I mean I have an aunt and a cousin who have their tongues pierced and they are doing okay.... Well then my mom told me she might take me for my birthday this year, but all I really want for christmas is my tongue piercing.... Oh and by the way you can still do everything you could do after your tongue heals because my aunt has had her tongue pierced for 6 years and she can still et all the foods and do the things she used to do before getting it like chewing gum and stuff....

First of all, it depends on how old you are. She may want to make you wait until you are absolutely sure that you want to do this. Convincing her will be tough. But you need to ask her why she won't let you. If the answer is still no, then it's best to wait until you don't need her permission. Good luck

are you over or under the age of 18 (21 some places)?

if the answer to this is "under" then best to wait until you are 21.
don't be afraid to ask mom if she has reservations about you having it done because she is having an adverse reaction to her own piercing. be sure that you are respectful, and tell her that you understand that she doesn't want you to get pierced at this time, that you only want to understand the reason for her answer. there is no disrespect in wanting to understand "why."

First, why do you opt for one? Are you doing it merely to slot in? attempting to do some thing rebellious? desiring it for some thing sexual? 2d, imagine ahead. Are you going to maintain this piercing continuously? imagine of what a feasible boss will imagine once you do an interview. merely keep in mind that your mouth is finished of all sorts of bacteria and a hollow on your tongue is a large way for it to get in. also, ultimately, a tongue ring will ruin your experience of flavor, so that you may have that to look ahead i have continuously stated it is your body and your determination, yet till you're of age, you nevertheless could get the parental permission to do all the belongings you opt for to do. Oh yeah and keep in ideas, it truly is in effortless words 5 more beneficial years till you're an grownup and would opt for for your self. Why no longer wait till then?

I don't see anything wrong with you getting your tongue pierced, especially if they all have theirs pierced, if she didn't see anything wrong with it when she did it, then she should feel the same about you getting yours pierced. I feel that as a parent we should do and act the way we would like for our children to act. Good luck sweety, just rationalize with her and maybe she will let it happen.

Perhaps she's having issues, with her tongue piercing, that she just does not want you to expierence..... I don't know you age but wait until you move out, on your own and then it won't make a difference.
My son had one - he took it out because it was causing him tons of problems.
