One reason I don't like a lot of other things is the texture, i.e crunchy, soggy, and another is the taste, will I ever grow out of this, or will I have to force myself to like these things? Because I know i really need to eat more kinds of fruit and veggies!

I was told by my aunt that your taste buds change every 7 years or so and that I should try things I hated when I was younger because I may like things I used to not like now. Sounds like an old wife's tale to me:-)

However, I do love things now (begininning in my mid-20s) I used to hate such as baked or mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, peas, green beans, asparagus, spinach salads, tomatoes, onions, olives, etc.

So, chin up there is hope for you. Give yourself a few years and try things again in moderation and the most important advice is don't be afraid to try new things you have never tried or haven't had in a while.

I think it is very cool that you care!!

A tomato you're ideal is a FRUIT. human beings see it as a veggie because of the fact they eat it greater like they might a veggie, often with yet another veggie like on a hamburger. Its a false impression nevertheless. Tomatoes do no longer advance on a vine. The plant they advance on is one among those Nightshade which in and of itself is poisonous. it incredibly is a skinny stemmed plant that's short to boot, would desire to be incorrect for a vine OR a bush, that's the place the berry concept would are available to boot. yet its type on a medical point IS certainly a Fruit. The confusion approximately 'fruit' and 'vegetable' arises because of the changes in utilization between scientists and chefs. Scientifically speaking, a tomato is unquestionably a fruit. actual end result are progressed from the ovary contained in the backside of the flower, and incorporate the seeds of the plant (nevertheless cultivated types could be seedless). Blueberries, raspberries, and oranges are actual end result, and so are many styles of nut. some plant life have a mild section which helps the seeds and is likewise spoke of as a 'fruit', nevertheless it is not progressed from the ovary: the strawberry is an occasion. so a ways as cooking is in contact, some issues that are strictly end result could be spoke of as 'vegetables' because of the fact they're used in savoury incredibly than candy cooking. The tomato, nevertheless technically a fruit, is often used as a vegetable, and a bean pod is likewise technically a fruit. The term 'vegetable' is greater often used of alternative secure to eat factors of plant life, alongside with cabbage leaves, celery stalks, and potato tubers, that are no longer strictly the fruit of the plant from which they arrive. on occasion the term 'fruit' could be used to verify with component to a plant which isn't a fruit, yet that's used in candy cooking: rhubarb, to illustrate. So a tomato is the fruit of the tomato plant, yet could be utilized as a vegetable in cooking. so which you spot, there are a number of distinctive the type to look at this, yet whilst its a medical attitude, that's it. This good judgment additionally might shop on with to cucumbers that are component to the melon relatives.

Get yourself really hungry before you try a new vegetable. Extreme hunger will make it taste really good. I hated all veggies when I was your age, then when my mom died when I was 15, I had to move in with another family for two years. Most of their meals were all vegetables, and I learned to like them or go hungry. Today I love almost all vegetables because of that experience!

i think "growing out of it" really depends on you. but i do recommend to explore different cuisines. this may make you eat things you don't normally like because they may taste different or be flavored differently and their textures may change too. and i don't think it would hurt to try other things. you don't really have to force yourself to like anything. you just have to find the right kinds of food for you where you still get your daily nutritional value from. i'm in culinary school right now and i have come across so many things i didn't think would be a good idea but instead turned out really great. you're missing out on so much when you're picky with food!

You like what you like. Just take a multi vitamin and make sure that you are getting enough fiber in your diet. They make supplements for that too. Do you like salads? Corn and potatoes are starchy vegies and too much of them is not that good for you. Plus corn is hard to digest. Eat red potatoes instead of white, they are less starchy. Or try sweet potatoes, very good for you with much needed antioxidants.

I do not really like fruits, used to love them. I just don't like sweet things very much.

It's not unusual. I like things I wouldn't touch when I was younger. Tastes develop and change as you grow older.
