In my opinion, Manny moving up in weight would be his biggest mistake, sure he's powerful (awkward) at 130 pounds but his style isn't meant to go any bigger.
Ray hit hard at lightweight and that was more his natural weight and was accustomed to taking shots from the likes of Bramble (lost) Arguello (lost) Frias (won) Espana (won) and Ramirez (won) these guys could punch and were the very best of that era. Juan Manuel Marquez outboxed Manny after being down three times in the first round, but Ray would go right at Manny and back him up with good hooks to the body and head.
This fight wouldn't go 6 rounds, Ray would hurt Manny early and often. Manny can not fight going backwards so he would have no choice but try to slug it out with "Boom Boom" and be stopped late in the 5th. Manny would have a moment in the first but Ray would close the distance and Manny being a Southpaw wouldn't make any difference at all.
Thanks for the question Brent.

I was a fighter in East Liverpool Ohio back in 1977-1980 and so was Ray Mancini so our paths crossed a lot I had a lot of respect for him and still I,ve watched both fighters and the only weak nest Ray Mancini had was with purr boxers with speed which Pacquiao is not and this is where he would run in trouble with boom boom Ray would keep coming straight forward Manny would try to hold his ground for 3 rounds in the forth Ray would pin the pack man to the ropes a vicious left hook ends the fight this fight has to take place be for Ray fought Alexis Argello because after this fight Ray was never the same a side note when Ray fought for the Pennsylvania armature title there was a fighter from Philadelphia named Anthony Fletcher he beat Ray like a drum and if you ask me then if I thought Ray would become a world champion Iwould have said no way but his style is more suited for pro fighting this would be a great fight

I think some people forget that Mancini was a very good fighter and he was strong at lightweight. I think he would be to physical for Manny and with Manny going up to lightweight for this fight, he may not have the same power he had at 126 and 130 and he'll be hitting a naturally bigger man in Mancini, who took some of Arguello's best shots before being stopped. I like Mancini in this fight. He will take some of Manny's best punches, soak them up and keep coming forward and wear Manny down with body shots and hooks and stop Manny in round 10. Great Question!

Good question sir! I believe that while it lasts this would be a nonstop slugfest. Mancini is no doubt the stronger fighter of the two and he had good endurance. Pac man would fight hard but would get bulled around the ring by the aggressive Mancini. In the 8th round Mancini would back him into a corner and hammer away until the referee intervenes and halts the contest.

PACQUIAO - W 42 (KO's 33) TF 47 - W pct 89% 0 KO pct 70% - Barrera and Morales[2] - KO'ed by Singsurat and Torrecampo (both unknown)
In 2005 #7 ranked pound for pound current fighter
MANCINI - W 29 (KO's 23) TF 34 - W pct 85% - KO pct 68% - wins over Ramirez, Espana, Chacon and A. Fritas - KO 'ed by Arguello, G. Haugen and Bramble
Boxer Deuk Koo Kim died from injuries suffered in in bout with Mancini.
Both of these fighters had the same KO pct. Mancini KO'ed and was KO'ed by better than Packy was. It took 14 rds for Arguello to KO Ray. In this bout, I have Mancini by a 11 rd KO.
P.S. You have stated previously that the 13th, 14th and 15th rounds are the championship rounds.

Ray before he fought Du Kim the Korean fighter who died in the ring after that Ray was never his old self. I would bet on Ray to beat Manny if all else were equal.

Pac Man wins. Skill-wise, he's far superior to what Boom Boom ever was. And his guts match Boom Boom's too.
