Is it too late?

Question

I've turned 40 in June. I am single without children. There is nothing wrong with me or at least I think that there isn't. However even if I am an intelligent, kind and attractive person, I haven't had a seious relationship in almost three years. I want to have a family but single men my age are extremely rare and I won't go out with a married man. Where can I meet men? What do men look for in a woman? Is it too late for me to have a child? I also look much younger than my age. Sorry but now I do need comfort!

It is never too late. It is never too late for anything in life, a baby, a career, writing a book, winning a triathlon. Women are more beautiful in so many ways in their 40's. The wisdom grows and the heart blossoms. What men want are pretty much what women want, to have a great companion, lover, friend, confidant and nurturer. If you really want to put effort into looking for a someone, then go out more and not to bars! Go to book stores, grocery shopping really works, take a trip somewhere alone, go to an art gallery or use one of those on-line dating sites. Sometimes they do really work. I am sure you are as beautiful and probably even more so, then when you were in your 20's and I am not saying that because I am 43..LOL. But the pressures society puts upon us is hard. Women think they need to be married at a certain time, have a career or a child at a certain time or no children and just a career. It can make you crazy. Remember, we are not defined by who we are with, we are defined by who "we" are.
Enjoy your life and it is so nice to hear about a single woman in her 40's, who didn't rush and get marry because she was maturing.

I hope it isn't too late for you, I think one thing that might help is to be brave enough to say to someone interesting "would you like to grab a coffee" because if you wait to be asked, you might miss out on someone. (just make sure the conversation has covered the issue of singleness). When I worked in a laundromat I found that married or attached men were more at ease with conversation - not risking rejection or judgement maybe? - so be aware of that. The single ones are more reserved or cautious so they might need a little encouragement!

I turned 40 in June also and I have found that men I would date do not exsist. Most are married or have alot of baggage. I don't like drama either. I guess i have to settle for someone alot older or younger.I have been married and divorced w/ 2 kids . I can tell you that being married is not one my top 10 list of things I wanna do again . But good luck in your search.

its never too late. since you want to settle down look for men little older than you. for men life starts at 40 you need to let them mature a bit.

i dont really think its too late your too young to give up on hope... and there are some peopl that dont have kids till they are 50.... and meeting men im not sure about... there are all those dating sites but i really dont think those help you im not sure though..... and you shouldnt have to change your personilaty for a man .. if its a true man they wont look at you for you prettieness they will look at you for who you are on the inside..... dont give up on hope .. im sure there is someone out there for you.....Good LUCK
