I stopped taking my anti-depressant medication without telling anyone. My docter recently pescribed me a higher dosage, and I am willing to try them again, but I'm not sure what will happen if I suddenly start taking a high dosage without slowly increasing it. I'm on Recpirdol, and Zoloft.

Psych-meds are given to a person to reduce the symptoms of a mental health issue. They are not the cure but an assist. Along with psych-meds, therapy (individual, couples, families, groups) is the next step to reduce the need for pysch-meds. AA is a part of the self-help groups. AA and therapy really go hand-n-hand. To answer your question, you can take the increase without slowly increasing. The thing is not to come off of them without weaning them from your system.

I would not start the meds again without first talking to your doc and admitting that you quit taking them so he can advise you as to what he wants you to do. If there was a problem with the meds he may want to change them. Resperidol and Zoloft are good meds but if you were having problems with them you should have told the doc instead of just stopping them all at once. Call your doc and get his help on this.

in case you look on the rather archives from the medical trials you'll discover that those undesirable part consequences in effortless words impression a small percentage of the human beings who take the drug. as well, it isn't medical doctors or scientists who arise with the record of undesirable part consequences. If one individual contained in the trial comments they'd an aspect result it is going on the record. it doesn't count that the guy in reality has no way of understanding what brought concerning the symptom they imagine they have, it is going on the record. That that is why that is amazingly uncomplicated to work out such issues as: part result: Sleepiness, insomnia, Weight income, weightloss--for the same drug. in case you opt for the information search for the probabilities of those who pronounced the undesirable part consequences and not in any respect the leaflet that incorporates the drugs.

It will be interesting to let your doctor know about the way you are using these medications..about Zoloft: It´s important to know that it drives to a reduced performance of the liver and renal function decrease, lose weight and some neurological problems.
So whenever you start a treatment is very import to follow the medical recomendations, to vary it or to change it can only make the treatment doen´t work properly.
So I advise you to talk to you doctor about it.
Good lucky !

You probably need a different med & a different dr. I tried a few before I found the one that worked for me (Wellbutrin). Others made me feel worse, gave me headaches, etc. If your dr wants to increase it instead of changing it, I would change drs.

you should never stop your medication without informing your doctor. If you feel ok and dont need it,well thats great ..inform your physician and he will discuss it with you.
And definitly you shouldnt re-start the anti-depressant on your own -especially a high dose..

Don't stop taking your meds! My doctor told me that some meds you can't just stop, they have to help you reduce your intake of them because if you just stop them suddenly, it could cause seizures.
