Maybe after 50 or 60 years with someone it's safe to say it's true love. So few people would know about that these days. "Love" is just a fleeting feeling for most people - it doesn't last.

I don't think you "know" because I don't buy it. I think it's a myth.
I believe in "real love". and I think it's something a person can have, can create with any number of people who share the same values, the same morals and some of the same vision for their lives.
Those who want real love have it. Those who are waiting for it to hit them in the head or fall in their lap or whisk them away to soap opera land will continue to wait.
When we want love we create it. We create it by loving. The only way to get it is to give it away and to give it away in abundance, with abandon and to do it in a way that it can be received.
I have it because I wanted it. Because I found someone 25 years ago who wanted it too. It gets more real every day.
And that means there's more of it, less of it and alot more of everything else as time goes by.
True Love is, for me, staying when something else looks better. Taking out the trash on Tuesday. Holding him when no one else will (or would want to).
It's kids who need braces, no sex, and one great day in a month of really shitty ones.
It's waiting. Waiting for things to get better when all seems lost. And knowing they will.
So "true love" in the "true" sense? no. "Real love"? Absolutely.

I believe after 10 to 20 years, it is true love, but if you just met your lover, your love will be intoxicating both of you, it is when you get to know each other you know may be your love is true or not.

Well I think you can, but if you are asking yourself if you really love someone, I think the fact that you wonder makes it not to be true love, and if you are wondering about if he/she has true love well thats more difficult to guess.
