Hi, I'm doing a research paper and presentation on autism. I would seriously like to put a 110% on this, so I had an idea to interview someone. Since I don't know anyone personally who's autistic, I would like to ask some questions to someone who's autistic or a parent who have an autistic child. To answer my questions more privately, my email address is nessa048@hotmail.com

For the person who have autism:
*How old are you?
*When did you get diagnosed with autism?
*How severe is your autism?
*Was it hard at school and was you comfortable at the school you went to?
*What have your family did to help you through the yrs?
*Is it difficult to do daily activities?
Any stories or comments you would like to share?

For the parents:
*How did knowing that your child have autism affected your life?
*Did you look at your child a different way or thought he/she need special needs?
*How old is you autistic child?
*When did your child get diagnosed with autism?

- 38 y/o
- when I was 7
- I'm high functioning. Aspergers
- It was extremely hard and it was very uncomfortable. I hated it.
- My dad helped me learn about my condition and taught me to live with it by teaching me "the game of life".
- Not if they are part of my routines. My husband helps a lot with keeping my life within the same routine every day.

I also have an autistic son.
- It was somewhat devastating because I knew how it would be for him. I have been teaching him "the game of life" just like my dad taught me. My husband is also a great help with him since he knows how to make life easier for both of us.
- I look at him as someone with more challenges in front of him but not as a "special child" he can solve cognitive problems. His defficiency though is with social interaction, which is also my problem.
- He's 11 years old
- When he was 18 months.

I'm autistic and I'll answer through e-mail.

Edit: I'm sorry if you need information sooner, but I'm having problems with fatigue and don't have dependable language, so it might be a couple of days before I finish the e-mail. I've already typed 1300 words, but it will take me at least 600 more words until I feel like my answers are complete.

Try going to your local public schools and ask the principal for a parent might be willing to share. If the principal can't help, perhaps he/she could put you in contact with special education services for the district.

A high schooler would be good to ask, but you'll be speaking to someone with a high functioning form, such as Asperger's.

Thank you for doing this.
