how should i adjust my treadmill?? incline or no incline?

It's just as much HOW you run as WHAT you run on. The incline feature on your treadmill is there for you to get a better workout when just running gets a little too easy.

Not as much as running on Tarmac. This is because the treadmill will give a little bit every time your foot hits the tread, and thus reducing the amount of impact on your knees and shins. To use the same amount of calories on a running machine as you do when running on the road you should incline the tread mill to a gradient of around 2 degrees.

If you don't incline it it doesn't hurt your knees. You can incline it slightly but not a lot.
