I just went through this and after lots of frustration found two very easy solutions. 1)if you have Microsoft Office open up Publisher and it has premade web-page templates you can customize and you don't have to know HTML. or you can
2) Go to www.downloads.com and as a free for 30 day trial you can download "Lauyan TOWeb" which is a super simple and fun application that lets you "fill in the blanks" with whatever you want to put on your site as well as add picturesa and change the colors etc, and then you just hit "Publish" and its on the web. It walks you through step by step. or you can (and what I did)
3) If you really want to learn a FANTASTIC download from downloads.com is "NVU" it is freeware and you never have to pay for it. It is spyware and adware free (TOWeb will place ads on any site you publish before paying for the software--but in the beginning who cares? But if you do look at NVU) and its has a wonderful 51 page users manual you can print out. It is a little more complicated but it teaches you step by step how tomake the site you want and it will get it on the web for you. This is the best choice I have found, but if you are in a hurry and just want a quick easy fix- go with Publisher of TOWeb. Good luck!

First, you will need a hosting service, which will allow you to host your website on the Internet so other people can view it.
If you are a beginner at this and already have a Yahoo! ID, I would recommend Yahoo! GeoCities. Although there are plenty of web hosts available, Geocities is probably the easiest one for you to manage a website.
http://www.geocities.com
Like stated above in the previous answer, if you have no knowledge of HTML, GeoCities offers a wide variety of tools and pre-made templates, so you can easily edit your webpage without the hassle.
If you sign up for a Geocities, you can click on the "Create & Update" tab and select the PageWizards option, that will take you through a step-by-step wizard to create your webpage. Once you have saved it, you can go to your site by going to this address:
http://www.geocities.com/your_yahoo_username/nameofpage.html
Or, like the previous user suggested, you can make your own website using pre-made templates in programs such as Microsoft Office Publisher, or even make one in Word. Once you are done making your webpage in Word or Publisher, you can save it as a Web Page (.htm, .html) in the "Save As..." box, and name your file.
Then in GeoCities, you can go to your File Manager (the place where it shows all of your files and webpages on your account that anybody can view) and upload your own files and webpage from Publisher there.
This may be confusing at first, and if you need more help, please ask.

► Just use NVU editor (www.nvu.com), it's free and wont tie you down to one method of editing. NVU pages can be transferrable to frontpage or dreamweaver html editor
SEE http://www.interkeys.com/htmleditor for more info on Premium HTML Editors (WYSIWYG)
► For free hosting, try google pages pages.google.com or yahoo geocities ,
its sort of free hosting, but you are limited to a subdomain on googlepages & geo has ads on your website - otherwise I would use http://www.interkeys.com/tophosts to get one for a few bucks a month with 500 GIG bandwidth and the rich with features
its up to you how developed a site you want and if you want to use your own domain name --
