I know she was forgiven. But what did she LOVE ALOT? Its sounds so subjective. What is YOUR list of 'everything' she must have loved?? Your interpretation of that verse??

(Luke 7:47-48) Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

(Luke 7:48) And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.

HER SINS, WHICH ARE MANY..... Perhaps those That are FORGIVEN, know How Much of a Sinner - THEY REALLY ARE?

The REST = DON'T THINK THAT THEY ARE SINNERS..... And That = IS WHY THEY MOCK GOD AND HIS WORD = = SO MUCH!

Thanks, RR

The New American Bible states Luke 7:47 a little clearer as:

"So I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven; hence, she has shown great love."

Mary's loved Jesus much because He forgave her much. This is also the meaning in the prior parable in Luke 7:41-43.

With love in Christ.

It was said that she was a prostitute but then followed Jesus and his apostles. What she loved a lot was the attention of men but I'm guessing she turned over to God after Jesus spoke to her about her sinfulness.

If you think it's related to The Da Vinci Code, it's just a book written by a man's imagination and creativity and it was not based on research. :)

The actual translation was that she Loved Jesus very much

That passage has also been said to now look like Jesus loved her in return......

In the Gospel of Timothy, Thomas, and Mary Magdalene herself all three say that she was 'companion to Jesus'. Old Hebrew term for WIFE of Jesus.

Paul and Peter did not like the fact that a woman should be so close and that ANY woman should have a hand in the Church.

Both spent the rest of their lives removing any trace of Mary, and banned any females from entering the church itself.

Some "Rock of the Church" huh?
