In poker, when it is your turn you are required to match or exceed the previous bet at the table. So if a player has just bet $10 and now it is your turn, you must match that bet of $10 if you wish to stay in the hand. This is known as a call. To avoid confusion many players opt to specify verbally what they intend to do before doing it. So in this example the first player bets $10, the next player will say 'I call' and everyone at the table will know that his intention is to bet $10, matching the previous bet. His other options are to raise which would involve betting more than $10, or to fold, which would mean he gives up his hand, places no more money in the pot, and relinquishes any right to the pot in that hand.

It means you are matching the previous bet, raise or blind to continue in a hand. You may want to read more on the rules of poker on http://www.theultimatepokerguide.com that will help you understand more about calling.
