When God created man (and woman), he gave them dominion over all the animals and the earth and we are to be good stewards of this trust placed in us and take good care of all of His creations and creatures.

In no way does that mean the earth should be destroyed. Having dominion means that we rule the animals and care for the earth absolutely. Yes, sign me up for the earth saving thing.
The plurality is referring to Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

I thoroughly agree. It does say in our image which a lot of people miss when reading the scriptures. Only we (the human race) can save this world from the destruction that we are bringing upon it. No one seems to care about what is left for our children and grand children. Very good point made!

It is simply telling us that there are more than one person here. It has nothing to do with destruction of the earth or anything else.
