Facial blush is a physiologic (normal) response to a variety of emotional stimuli. Blushing is caused by over stimulation of the sympathetic nervous system. This can cause vasodilation of the capillaries in your face.....The mechanism is involuntary and anxiety may aggravate it, but blushing may also occur with or without stress or anxiety. Patients with this condition were born to blush excessively.

Being embarrassed, or over exercised, or very angry tends to cause the body to send more blood toward your face. Blame that on our cave dwelling ancestors. There are some medical conditions that cause blushing but they have nothing to do with being emotional or embarrassed.
