If you are making popcorn the old fashion way in a pot with a lid, you can add the butter at the same time you add the grease for popping the corn. All you do is take you pot with corresponding lid, place it on the stove top and turn the heat on medium high. Add the tiniest bit of oil to barely cover the bottom of the pot. Drop three pieces of corn in the oil, wait until they pop. When they pop drop a nice piece of butter to the bottom of the pot. Pour just enough corn in to cover the bottom of the pot with a single layer of corn. Put the top on and shake constantly. The corn will start to pop like crazy in a few moments. When this slows down to a pop about every two or three seconds it´s finished. Remove it from the fire so it doesn´t burn and add your salt. Buttery, salty, and not soggy.

I have found that using the spray butter (you can find it in the aisle with the regular butter at the grocery) works much better than melting butter in a pan and drizzling it on. The spray butter covers better, and the popcorn doesn't wilt as with regular melted butter. If you want your popcorn totally dry, I would suggest using butter flavored powder. I hope this helps as I know where you are coming from. I LOVE buttered popcorn, but hate what happens when I melt butter in a pan and drizzle it on. Soggy Popcorn, YUCK!

I have one of these for that exact reasonQ I can add the butter to the popping popcorn and it gets buttery without getting soggy. I can also add other flavors to the mix while it's popping...I used to add powdred sugar and the end result was TO DIE FOR!!

I'm assuming you just had a boy, if so, congrats!!! As far as the popcorn, my friend uses very little margarine - for some reason she says it weighs lighter than butter. For an added taste, she sprinkles it with garlic salt. Yummy!!
