Easy. Tell her you're going to quit your job and get a much lower paying one (say, working at McDonald's or doing late night audits at a hotel). Does she care? If she does, then she's a gold-digging whore. Stay away.

You must be really young to ask this question. That is like asking does a guy like a girl just for her or because he is also attracted to her. If it was not for the material benefit that men give to women, they would not give us the time of day. Even women that have a good job, think they are entitled to a man with a better income. You better just accept the facts of life. A big part of it is women like security. They may want a child, who knows.
It seems I may be too factual for some of the women that read this. But statistics prove what I am saying. I am an economist. And I make no judgement. Women's economic status on average increases when they marry. Women have known that forever.

I have to join the consensus here and say that you should tell her you're financial situation is about to or already has changed. I would say if you are questioning this you must have seen some signs of it already. True? Then find out and you'll be able to relax once you know.

Well the way you can tell is that if she asks you constantly about materialistic things or things she wants you to buy/give her constantly. Other than materialistic things, if she does like you for who you are - If you ever make her something and she really is interested about it and thanks you for it then she is sincere or even staying in a friday night and just being cozy on the couch instead of going to a fancy restaurant.

By the way she acts. What does she talk about? Is she more interested in your possessions than in you?

stop pampering her with material things..if she stops seeing you or always make excuses of not being available during dates, then it,s not what you are but what you have.
