One and only thought provoking question in the world is "Who am I".

47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself , neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes .
48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes . For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

This was actually given by a skeptic who thought it meant God allowed keeping slaves.

First it says servant, not slave, which means like a housekeeper or waiter.

Second if you read it closely it doesn't mean in the physical sense, but in the spiritual sense.

If you choose to be Christian you must do the work of God and Jesus 10 times better than anyone else and not, as a friend of mine who is a Christian says, as a SLAKER.

It says the Christian (the sayer of "I'm a believer") doesn't do more than just give lip service, they will suffer a greater or harsher punishment than someone who is NOT an avowed Christian.

By this passage, someone who goes around saying "I'm a Chrisitian" and doesn't follow through doing God's work, they will be in far hotter water with God at the end of times than, say, an atheist who does good in the world, no evil, just just doesn't believe.

This opens to door to imply that non-Christians can get preferential treatment from God over "slaker" Christians who hold a book, good to Church, say the words, make an oath and then BREAK the rules, ignore the rules or don't do the work.

THEY are the VOULLENTARY SERVANTS of God. Atheists and Buddhists are not. THEY CHOSE to do God's work by failed. The others didn't. They weren't phoney.

If you read the Bible, God isn't thrilled with phonies and weasles. Everyone thinks the original sin was eating the apple, but there is another sin involved.

Eve blamed the snake.

Adam blamed the woman.

Neither of them took PERSONAL responsibility for their actions.

God expects you to take PERSONAL responsibility for what you do in this world and not say "my church told me to do it that way." Or "it's my church's fault" or "my pastor said it was ok."

That won't work with God.

An atheist who goes out into the world and does real good and isn't evil or vile, may find themselves in God's graces even if they aren't a believer for if they are truly a non-believer because of all the "slackers" they see in the Christian world, God may let this go as legitimate.

And devote Christians who don't do go out and do good. Don't follow the examples of Jesus, they could be in a peck of trouble.

This passage made me do a lot of reflecting and as I said it came from a skeptic.
