Hi Tammy...consider using river rock on top of the plant soil. They are large enough where the cat cannot accidentally ingest them like pebbles and heavy enough not to be able to be batted about like a toy as well.

I'll leave the naming game to my fellow Yamsters.

Call him Mufasa, or Achilles. Then get a cat-tote and put him in some time out. After 24 hours or more in a cat tote, he will want out and you will be a friend. Put some mousetraps in places you don't want him. My three cats know exactly what mousetraps are, I just hold one up and you should see the look in their eyes. Mousetraps don't harm them, but the snap, and any sting they happen to get is a good deterrant.

digging? Maybe he is looking for artifacts. How about Loran
Croft. Who knows when he will find a tomb.
As far as destruction,he probably is bored and lonely. He
needs a climbing tree and toys; and maybe a feline friend.

tap him on the nose just NEVER blow on the eyes!!!! Then just let him sit a different room that you dont care about that much and close the door!!!! If this doent work there must be something that is hurting on him so put him in the cage and take him to the nearest vet.

Put lemon or orange peel in the plants. Cats don't like the smell and will leave it alone.

Try to set up some sort of barrier to keep him away from your plants, then buy him a scratching post.

place crinkled tinfoil around the plants, or spray them with a cat repellent product.

I trained my cat by spritzing her with water every time she misbehaved.

You should name him Digger.
