Tell them that you have Asthma and that you have a prescription inhaler. That will stop their calls immediately as that is a disqualification.

Don't worry about if you ever wanted to join the military in the future and having that give you a problem because you told them that. Since you havent filled out the medical pre-screening form and signed it, they can't hold it against you.

For all who say call a lawer.. YOU CANT.. that would result in sueing the goverment and if he loses it is possible jail time for the poor kid. #2 Is you do not wish to inlist, Call the dpot and ask to talk to the CO. If your name is still not off the list then call the main MEPS station Talk to the MEPS CO tell him the issue and he will take care of it from there.. As for Not inlisting I have been in for 5 years and it has been the best thing that I couldhave dont for myself and my family. But it is a personal perfrence. The military is not for everyone and I repect that.

Come and Live in CANADA!

Canada, France and Germany 'MAY' give you all kinds of protection and finical support if ARMY wants to force you to SEND you to IRAQ WAR!
Under the International Bills of Human Rights; YOU have RIGHT of LIFE and no one in this World can harass your life.

SO, when you came Canada, France, Germany or any country in the World, even IRAN, just ask a lawyer to file an application for Political Asylum as you are ANTI WAR like many other Americans who are living around the World and they don't want to lose their Life in a Bomb by Iraqi!

You can't sue them for harassment ... the recruiters are just doing their jobs and it's not illegal to make multiple calls to the same person. You have to make it clear that you're not interested and tell them not to call you any more.

When my son was a senior in high school, there were recruiters from all branches of the military in his school once a week, every week doing the same thing. One guy from the Navy began to call over and over because my son had told him that he wanted to be a pilot, but he didn't say that he wasn't interested in getting his license thru the military. After I actually picked up at least 6 of the recruiters calls myself, I explained that while I understood what he was calling for, that my son had no interest in the Navy and would he please remove his name from the his list of candidates. He apologized for calling and never did again. My son is a pilot now and he didn't do it thru the military!

Ironically, my daughter, who's in college now, occasionally dates the same guy, and they met when he tried to recruit her at the same high school! She's not joining the Navy either!!

Don't burn the bridge, because in five to ten years you may need the job. Yes, it is a job. More people do it for the money than we may be willing to acknowledge. The funny thing is if you tell them you're gay they will continue to call, but if you tell them you do any kind of drug they will leave you alone. When there is no war going on, the military is a great carreer option.

Don't sue (yet) because they are just aggressively doing their jobs which aren't that easy.

As for your situation, try this: Mail a certified letter to their office telling them to stop contacting you. Make it sound very legal and official (no phone calls, personal contacts, letters, faxes, emails, or any other form of communication, blah, blah, blah).

Make sure to get the kind of certified letter that requires a signature from them and gets you a receipt proving that they received the letter.

That should make them stop in their tracks but if it doesn't, then go to a lawyer with the proof.

Find out what recruiting battalion they are from and file a complaint with the commander or First Sergeant. You could also call the cops and let them know. I'm not sure the that would do any good, but if you have told them to leave you alone and they won't they are harassing you.

You can sue them, but the army has an unlimited supply of lawyers. A cheaper route would be to talk to your congressmen.

Ask to speak to their first line leader. Go above them, their boss will get mad at them. They reflect poorly on the army by doing stuff like this. My recruiter was the most pressure free genuine person I've ever met in the army, but i have met and seen some slime balls on TV. They can be bad. Don't be afraid to tell them to F*CK OFF. You can yell and swear at them, they're not police officers, they can't do anything about it. Most of the ones i have encountered were awful soldiers, that's why they're recruiting. Tell them you're going to write to your congressmen if they don't stop harassing you, and they'll leave you alone, without the trouble of a long legal action
