I'm talking about no sex,masturbation, porn and trying not to lust with your mind. Does it make you more spiritual and peaceful or just a repressed sex maniac or deviant.

bella - Gandhi and the Pope are celibate so I thought it would make you more peaceful. But on the other hand there are all those catholic priests who are abusers and not celibate at all

It's in the nature of all animals to have an interest in sex. Moreso for males, at least from what I've seen from human behaviour. At some stage in a human males life he will lust. It takes alot if self control to inhibit this. ALOT. I can't see it as making my life more spiritual or peaceful. Maybe for some. It's common for cathoilc priests to take a vow of celibacy, but I doubt any of them would tell you its easy. I'm willing to bet that every priest has had a lustful thought. The're human.

No, I don't think all of that is totally possible.
Jesus said all men should marry.
Of course as many married men will tell you that doesn't warranty sex. It doesn't stop lust either, it is focuses it on one person.
From what I've seen happly married people tend to be more confortable and stable than singles.
We are half of a whole and always yearn for that part which we are not.

the number of priests exposed for their abuse of kids shows that there is something unnatural about celibacy. Everyone fantasizes, even the pope, I reckon.
