no they are not but they hurt like hell and they bleed so if your messing with someones back door remember how HIV/AIDS is spread,think about(blood)I don't care if you do use a condom why would you wanna put yourself at risk for anything you have to be smart and think ahead this is 2006 too many Std's you can catch unless your trying to eat the hemmoroid I don't know what can happen then.

No they are not. They are caused by extreme pushing with bowel movements. They say that once you have them, you should not sit on the "john" for too long at one sitting... it will make them worse. If they are extremely painful or bleeding then you should see your physician.
