I will not debate about whether or not global warming is actually happening, but I will say that I have seen quite a bit of information that would suggest that noone can prove it for sure.
Converting your car to an electric or installing solar panels on your house are things that are nice to do, but are enormously expensive, not very practical, and really only used by people who want to advertise how environmentally friendly they are without actually doing anything. Before you do that, try some of these things.
At any rate, the ways that you can do your part to be environmentally friendly are not at all glamorous. It is things like replace all your light bulbs with flourescent bulbs, use a fan instead of air conditioning, turn down the heat or build a fire (the CO2 contribution from that is negligble if you are worried about it), do fewer loads of laundry and wash dishes by hand, and use surge protectors on your appliances and electronics. When you are not using the item, turn the surge protector off. This will prevent what is called "ghost drain." many items draw a massive amount of current even when turned off. Like a previous person said, it will save you a ton of money. Something else you can do is to insulate the entire interior and exterior of your house (within the walls of course). This will trap heat in your house and prevent it from rising to rooms on the second floor. What will then happen is that people on the second floor will not be overly hot do something silly like open a window, and the people on the first floor will not crank up the heat. Simple things like this will help more than anything else that you can ever do. We cannot at the time end our dependence on fossil fuels, but we can reduce the impact that using those things have and save money at the same time. Some of these ideas have a larger upfront cost, but they will cost less over the long run.
Something else which is very simple is not to drive as much, and walk or ride a bike. Not using as much gas is a good thing just from a local air quality perspective, and it will save you money.
Realize that there is no easy solution to environmental issues, and if anyone tells you that things are simple to fix, they are lying to you. Or to themselves.

The most important thing to do is to end our dependence on fossil fuels. convert your automobile to an electric powered vehicle, and generate your own home power with wind or solar energy.
Also, look into the works of various alternate energy scientists like Searl, Bearden, Tesla, and others. Look up Keelynet.com for more leads and directions to try.

Sorry Carlos there is really very little you can do about global warming. Still, limiting your own resource usage will not hurt and can save you money, whatever you do don't go out planting trees. That makes matters worse!

Geee...... I guess the ones man used 10,000 years ago at the end of the last ice age (when the average temperature of the planet increased by around 20°C) are probably out, since they didn't work back then either.

In one word "Conservation".
All resources should be considered God given and used with respect. If you can find more then one use for any resources then you will help reduce the effects of Global Warming.

I can help with one . That is that CO2 is not a pollutant. Mother nature has recycled our air with plants for millions of years. CO2 is just the beginning.
