e.g. Pagan festivals and (slightly more notably) stuff to do with Mithras (a Sun God) - whose birthday is 25th December???
So, home much else about Christianity is stolen or "made up" from other sources???

For those that don't know.. Jesus' birthday in the bible isn't given (which is strange for the alleged SON OF GOD - you would have thought someone would have made a not - Today is the birthday of the "saviour!!!), but in other references it is said to have been either in the Summer or 1st October...

No, STEAL is the right word... I can see the early Christians sitting around saying "hmmm, let's make up a load of stuff, wonder what we can steal from other religions to make ours sound better"... :D

The problem.. is that truth is at odds with faith. Either one chooses to learn and grow from finding the truth, or one chooses to be told what to believe by the bible or the church. Christianity has no truth, so it "incorporated" the established beliefs of others to try and "steal" followers from other religions. It's the oldest trick in the book, as they say, tell people what they want to hear, and then embellish on what I said to make Christianity seem more appealing. For example, many religions have the "virgin" birth myth.. which Christians adopted because it was well known and accepted as a miraculous event worthy only od a god.. and then add... but "our virgin birth is the only real one and it's less complicated.. one god.. one myth to pray too.. which is just simplifying and who wouldn't like things more simple?"

The early Church was made up of different peoples of different cultural backgounds. Some of their traditions were woven into the fabric of Christianity. For instance, If people were used to having a winter soltice festival, what were they going to do, stop partying? So they changed the reason for the celebration: the coming of the spiritual Light into the world rather than the physical light.
As for not knowing Jesus' actual day of birth... Well, first of all people of that era didn't make as big a deal of birthdays (with cake and candles and presents) as we do now. So if Jesus himself didn't celebrate it, his disciples probably didn't know when it was. Second of all, the Hebrews did not have a 365 day calendar, so even if we knew the day -- without the year -- we could only narrow it down to within 35 days or so. Incidentally, that is why we celebrate Passover/Easter on different days each year.

Christianity does not make things up - it is based on the Bible.
The Bible records the details of Jesus's birth - though not the date. Much of what is 'celebrated' now has nothing to do with Christianity.

Basically it was to help convert more people to Christianity. A lot of pre-Christian holidays etc were decreed illegal by the various popes of the time. At this time most of the law was decreed by church and not actually the state as we know it today.

of direction they did. Irish priests got here upon that in the event that they defined Jesus as a warrior for God fairly than a peacemaker 'pagan; tribes customary him extra in simple terms so because it relatively is how they pictured him. additionally they outfitted their church homes and monasteries on web sites that have been already considered to be be holy by making use of the pagans. They took rites of paganism and placed them into Christian celebrations to lead them to extra palatable and finally they took the gods and goddess of the pagan religions and in comparison them to various Christians saints. As they melded and blended the multiple components into Christianity it became extra appropriate to pagans and extra of them have been switched over. relatively clever of them i think of.

They did not STEAL. When those stupid Romans came in, they put up those lies to make their OWN religions that have relation to PAGANISM. Those ROMANS were sh*t headed!!!! Then FAKE Christianity spread over the empire....no choice....no other options to change it because many believed already on that lie. The real ones was hidden...the Romans would kill them if they spread it...people wouldn't know the real CHRISTIANITY...
DELIVER US FROM LIES!!!!

well-meaning humans incorporated some pagan festivals.... because they are human. Nevertheless, do not let it cloud the unique Christ who taught like no other in history, healed multitudes proving He had the Power of God, and then died and rose from the dead! to pay the price for our sins. If you will shift your focus away from what humans did to the story and the religion of Christ, to Christ Himself, maybe you will begin the journey into eternity with God.

Just to tell you, Judaism is the VERY first religion because God didn't turn to man yet. After Jesus' death then came Catholicism and Centuries after that were the other religions. So how can you say we stole if we never stole anything?
Jesus' birthday is not quite known. It was in hundreds of years after Jesus' death was December 25th declared as his birth date but then Today's studies believe his actual birthday might even be in April. It's just a date and we won't know if it's true but religions can celebrate a date however they please but that doesn't mean we have to care about what they do but respect what they do.

Much of those things you listed were done by the early Christians to avoid being noticed because they were being persecuted and even killed. Christianity doesn't require the celebration of any holidays, there are only two thing required. Baptism and the Lords supper.
