Words do hurt. The stay with you for a long time. A broken bone will heal but a being hurt by words does not go away easily. I am a freshman in high school and I have been attending band camp. Some things that I have been told and things that people say to me or yell at me are still with me. The last time I had a stick thrown at me it did not hurt at all. Well atleast compared to the hurt I have gotten from people at band camp.

I don't think it was ever specifically composed by someone.
It was most likely passed down through generation.
Though the actual rhyme rings untrue.
