If you want to store cookies then you should put them in a container like Tupperware or Rubbermaid. Even the new containers from Hefty are good for short term. If you want them to not harden, like choco. chip cookies, then put a couple slices of bread in the container with them. The bread will help give moisture to the cookies so they stay moister longer. If you see the cookies starting to dry up, replace with fresh pieces of bread. Hope this helps.

NOTICE
If you are trying to keep the cookies soft while storing them. You must put a slice of white bread in the bottom of an airtight container, then place the cookies on top of the white bread. The bread releases moisture into the cookies, but make sure you check the bread often because it will dry out. Just replace it with another piece of bread and check it often and your cookies will stay soft like the day you made them.

They will last for two weeks in an airtight container with a slice of bread or an apple slice that should be changed every other day. You can freeze them. Separate the layers with plastic wrap. They can last up to 9 months.

I wouldn't make them until a few (no more than 3) days before your going to give them to people. You can wrap them up and put them in the refrigerator. I bet they will be delicious!!!!
