I don't think the Lights are really going to contribute to Global Warming on a large scale. They're not on all year long. I'm sure that Jesus supports the Joy. Remember, Christmas is not only the Celebration of the Birth of Christ, but it is also the Spirit of Giving.

I noticed that people decorate their houses with christmas lights and Santa Claus ornaments but I do NOT see a house with a baby Jesus and Mama Mary statue or light. In my family, we laways put out mama mary and Jesus decorations.
It's more important to give to the poor than to give ourselves. The folk in the streets have NOTHING for christmas. It's Better to Give! This is the Christmas spirit that you're talking about that is MORE important. Not Nintendo Wii or PS3. Bringing Joy is nicer than being selfish.

Since Global warming is a myth and a scare tactic used by the liberal left media then I vote for the pleasure part you said first.

The second one. But if Jesus does not exist I would have to say I agree with it and I would like the effect on my world by not causing more energy use.

I think the Pagan way of celebrating. Brings joy, without commercializng the needs to "buy" gifts. I think that would make Jesus happy..after all he was a Pagan not a Jew. ( yes, look it up)
I ask you all to go research and see how Pagans celebrate Christmas and then go type in Yule Log in google..

research Christmas and find it roots in Jeremiah CH 10 3-5 you find that God is not please with the Christmas tree. I was in Babylon where the ideology of Christmas began and you will find that may not be please with Christmas at all. But we should acknowledge his birth.
