I seem to have the same problem, my house is clean, I vacuum and dust, toilet's clean so is my kitchen. But for some reason - the clutter, it's like I play shuffle - from one room to the next, it's endless. In one of my therapy sessions, I concluded I was this way because my mom was such a neat freak and I was rebelling. Once I came to terms with this - my house is not as picked up as others - but better than it used to be. I just have a problem getting rid of things 'cause I might need it for something one day.

hehe... You sound like my daughter when she was younger. I bet you are very active and your room is just not very high on your priority list. I wouldn't say there is anything wrong with you, you just need to move "room" closer to the top of the "list".
Once you get it clean, make sure whenever you get something out to use it, you put it back where it belongs. It only takes a few seconds to do that... then you won't spend a day cleaning up a lot later. Good luck!

your statement of "Girls are supposed to be neat" is a old fashioned outdated sexist statement that no longer applies to this day & age. in the old days woman were supposed to do all the house chores according to men who worked outside the house. nothing is wrong with you & your being a girl has nothing to do with being messy or not. many other woman as well as men are just as messy as you. you very well may grow out of it soon after you get your first apartment and take pride in its apperance. who realy sees you bedroom, right?
I personally have never met a neet organized teenager. If there room was clean it was because their mom cleaned it for them. hang in there, you will most likely out grow most of your messiness. but it is trying on the parents waiting for it,lol.

Welcome to the club baby, you see it's better this way, early in the morning when you have to get dressed, all your option lie in fron of you, so you can pick easily, with books well, the more the books on your bed, the greater the sense of accomplishment, hah! I read that many, you know what I mean, and with magazines, well they are easier to find that way, why take the pain of going to a book rack and then looking for right one, when you have all of them close at hand.
Jokes apart, I am exactly like you, my mom used to scream too, but no more, she's given up on me heheheheh, but then again, that's me. I'll get organized one of these days though, that's a promise

Each to their own. Who says girls are supposed to be neat clean and tidy. I am quite frankly fed up with people telling others what they are or or not supposed to do. I choose my own path through life and didn't really follow others examples. You can live how you are comfortable with, as long as you don't hurt others I don't see no problem. Of course if you are very untidy it may cause you to have less visitors in future, but I`ll let you decide if you think that is something you can live with.

Ask your mom to help you and teach you how to organize your stuff.
I was like you and I was never taught how to do it, just told to. Guess what, as an adult I still struggle with this!!
Yes, it will take effort on your part, but your room will be more relaxing and enjoyable when it is organized and tidy.

Try harder to keep your room in order. When you use something put it back as soon as you are done with it. Don't just take things out and lay them across the bed or out of place where they do not belong. I hope this helps you. Good luck

Don't worry, you are not the only one. Unfortunately, I am a girl who's pretty messy too and I'm also trying to conquer it! Let me know if you get any good ideas!

You are probably not the messiest, but you should work on changing the sheets alittle more often. That's just gross.
