I have tried communicating in simple English and using a translation tool, but I cannot receive any information in English to pay for the item I won.

Here is the directions from the merchant:

Wenn Sie unsere Forderung zwischenzeitlich noch nicht beglichen haben, überweisen Sie bitte den untenstehenden Betrag auf unser Konto .

Falls wir die Zahlung in den nächsten 5 Tagen nicht erhalten werden wir die Bestellung stornieren und die angefallenen Ebay Gebühren per Unstimmigkeit bei Ebay einfordern.

Thanks everyone for translating!

I accept responsibility for entering into the transaction without a firm grasp of the German language. I couldn't research payment options because I didn't know what they were. I couldn't read them. However, I have traveled to Germany and other countries, where I bought many things even though I'm a dumb American who can't speak the language. I assumed they would accept PayPal or a credit card like every merchant I have dealt with.

MEA CULPA!

For anybody who doesn't want to rub my nose in it and actually help me I will clarify my question:

I have this bank information...now how do I actually transfer the money. Do I just go to the bank with this information? Is there some online service? eBay doesn't assist with this type of transaction, so I'm asking if anyone has ever had experience wiring money to a German merchant after buying something on eBay, and if so, what is my next step?

Please, help me be a "safe customer."

Why didn't you look into payment methods before you bid?

Bank transfers are not recommended by ebay. They are threatening in this email to report you if you don't pay in 5 days. Do they accept paypal? If so, get yourself a paypal account and pay that way. Overseas transactions should always be paypal. It's far more secure.

Bank transfers are not recommended by eBay themselves. Make sure this is indeed a reputable well rated seller before using a bank transfer. Plus should you have any other issues and cannot communicate with the seller how will you resolve them? I have been burned twice in the past 2months on eBay in one case no money passed hands and once I was able to get my money back. Buyer beware.

Here you go:
You have ordered the under-stated article at ebay or at spielparadies.com. Even after 2 reminders, you have not paid for the articles yet. If you have not already ful;filled this requirement, please deposit this in our account.

If in the next 5 days we do not receive the payment, we will cancel the order and also report the default to ebay. This may result in penalties for you.

i only know a little bit of German.

the seller is noting that they have not yet received payment. the payment must be sent to them by wire transfer within the next 5 days, or the transaction will be canceled, and the item re-listed for sale. the seller also notes that any fees associated with the order cancellation and re-listing will be for the account of the buyer.

now, if you choose to pay by wire transfer, you will need your bank to transmit the funds to the sellers bank. the iban # is their bank account, and the swift code is the code for the bank where they have the account.

Here's what the seller is saying:
They "ersteigert" (dunno what that means) the article standing down with E-Bay or with spielparadies.com ordered. Unfortunately the seller could determine also after you didn't want to buy from him because you didn't give your U.S. adress. If you did not settle his demand in the meantime, transfer the following amount to his account. If we the payment in the next 5 days is not received then he will cancel the order and will tell Ebay and fine you for discrepancy.

WHAT A JERK THAT GERMAN PERSON IS! Tell eBay that he listed in the U.S. area and does not speak English and you don't understand him. It's *not* your fault. It's his!

=(

Ajam

P.S. Whatever you do, don't transfer money to his bank! He is a cheater and a theif. Wait till you get the item or tell ebay on him!

I would contact Ebay support. They might instruct you that you do not have to go through with the transaction because of the language barrier. Was the item on the U.S. site? If so, the seller HAS to provide instructions in English.
