Hi there...cats use their tongues to scrape/rasp the meat of bones and to groom themselves with the bristles known as papillae.

How about the name ...Harmony? The symbol of harmony is black and white (Ying-Yang) http://www.csusm.edu/rms/images/yingyang.gif

as cats groom themselves a natural comb is required i.e a bristly tongue. these are called papillae. these comb and lift dead fur from the coat and then swallowed.
dogs occasionally lick there fur but not for grooming so dont need a ruff tongue.
Ive always liked the name Evie for a female cat.

as someone said, for cleaning, combing actually. I like to give my cats names based on their personality, or appearance. I also call them by a proper name. I have a tiger cat who has an orange spot on top of her head. So I call her Dot, Dot The Cat, or Dot Cat. My black male cat is called Boo Cat, My other female is Sassy Cat. It only seems fitting to give them dignified, proper names.

Cats are very prissy and they groom themselves, the roughness of the tongue acts as a comb allowing them to actually comb out their fur. Dogs do not and usually need their grooming done by specialists. My cats name is Chacho but someone called him "Ketchup" once and I thought is was cute, I also like Muffin, Misty, Mishka and Powder...Pick a cute trait in your kitty then use it to guide you pick a name.

Cat's have rough tongues because they use it as a comb (you know when they're grooming themselves), and dogs I guess don't use their tongues for that, they probably just use them for eating.

About the name.. Do something weird and original. The weirdest names tend to be the cutest! (My cats names are Simon, Pippa, Oliver and Cricket!)

Because cats use their tongues to wash themselves, dogs dont use it for cleening that often.
the rough tongues stick to fur better making it better at cleaning.

Cats use their tongues for grooming and for scraping meat off bones. They have to be rough as their jaws are not strong enough to break through bone, like a dog.

How about calling her Pi - it's cute, easy to call and is reference to her colour (Magpie)!
