some christian i was talking to called me a murderer, then she called me a racist, a pigf***er, and then (the coup de grace), a paedophile (well, she said i was a kiddief***er). and this was all due to my atheism, she made it quite clear, she wasn't just randomly abusing me

When my super-super-super religous aunt was told I was a non-believer, the look on her face was priceless.
She physically recoiled with horror. I mean the leaning back, the snapping of the head back, the dropped jaw, the whole thing. If I had a video camera, I would of had $10,000 from America's Funniest Home Video's guarentteed.
She was beyond horrified that she was sitting next to me.
She quickly grabbed her chair and moved it away from me as fast as she could.
She then turned to my significant other and exclamed. "He doesn't believe in the Lord almighty blah, blah and so much more blah, etc.... "
My significant other then turned to her and quietly said.
"I know, neither do I. Religion is just a way to make money. When I was a kid, the priest in my town used to constantly complain that the preists in neighboring towns drove more expensive cars than him. Then they kept begging for more money all the time."
I was just smiling while stiffelling laugher by the new horror on her face that she was now sitting directly across from my signigicant other.
That was years ago, and she has never vountarily spoken to me, or my siginificant other, again.

I had a coworker demand to be transferred to be away from me because she didn't feel comfortable working with me. Management thought she was being silly and tried to assure her that my being an Atheist is really none of her business. She quit and as she cleaned out her desk she actually told everybody that I was soulless bastard.
I will ring your doorbell and run away!!!

I've also been told by family members something to the effect, "Don't mention your atheism around her, she's young."

I had a mindless idiot say, "you mean you worship the devil?" then ask me for weeks to go to church with her.
Other than that it was your typical burn in hell nonsense.
Funniest was quoting a Nirvana song as proof God exists. ("where do bad folks go when they die...") Wow! Got me! Never saw Cobain's irony.

They mostly just tell you that you are going to hell. I guess they don't realize how funny that sounds.
