One, make sure he has enough fluids - soup, tea, gatorade will rehydrate. He may have pulled a neck muscle from the retching from vomiting or sleeping in the wrong position. When we're sick, we try all ways to get comfortable to sleep and the discomfort from vomiting may have forced him to find an awkward sleeping position. You might try using a heating pad on the neck and see if that brings relief. It is does not get better probably in a day or so, and he has continuing neck pain, you might want to check with a doctor or nurse.

I would go and have him checked out at the doctors if I was you. He could have meningitis...one of the symptoms is neck pain and vomiting. If its is viral it will be ok but if it is bacterial it could be serious.

dont go looking for trouble, most likely a muscle strain from the vomiting.
