No one 'needs' to buy a dog - if you 'want' to, go to www.akc.org & do your research to find what breed's personality fits your lifestyle. No one can just pick one for you & it will magically fit!

It is my belief that a dog needs a name that he or she can relate to. When I first got my dog, I had a name for her. But before I stuck her with it, I actually took the time to observe her. Her personality surfaced almost immediately. The type of animal you have coupled with the personality is probably the best way to 'name' a dog. My dog was a cross between a poodle and laphsa. She had big bright eyes and loved chasing. She would roll around as a puppy right in the middle of the flowers. I named her - Buttercup! It worked for her. I suggest that you take the time to relate to your dog before you name him or her. There's no real big hurry other than the sooner you name the dog, and begin to call the name, the sooner the dog will know its name. Good luck

you have to name the dog by their personallity... once you take the dog home then watch and see how they act sometimes you will think of a good name just by its personality. make sure you know about the dog and all the work that needs to be put into having a dog berfore you run out and get one.
also you could go adopt a dog and give it a loveing home. theres alot of dogs in need of homes that would love for someone to go adopt them... visit.... www.petfinder.com
if theres a specific breed your looking for they usually have it
or you could visit your local shelter to find a dog you like.
at the website type your zipcode and it will show dogs at the shelters near you... if you adopt they usually have names so you wont need to worry about naming.
good luck

I'm not sure if you means names of breeds or names for a dog, but there's no way anyone could tell you either without knowing about your dog or about what sort of dog you want.

If you must get a dog... you choose the name according to the pet- not the other way around.

Your question is somewhat vague! Why do you want to name yourself a dog? If you want to get a dog, go to a pet shop and pick the one that looks attractive to you!

why dont you go to a local animal shelter and get a homeless one a good loving home? there are lots of abandoned pets, who need a loving and caring home. they will be able to guide you as to which breed will be the best for your home also. all the best!
