That would be wrong to do. That is, if history repeats itself, the lessons of the Roman Catholic Church and the Ottoman Empire, and the current Muslim regimes, and the Anglican influence once it was recognized as the 'official religion.'

That means that there are few to no chistians that think tht a 'religious government' would be a good idea. I understand that the constitution of the
USA has something about ' there being no test' as to the validity of a religious persuasion as to the capability of anyone to hold office.

IF, I repeat, IF the people think that they wouldn't EVER vote for a Muslim for office, for instance; then they are free to decide that it is an issue. Other than that, the government cannot impose a religious 'litmus test' to decide that a candidate is qualified, or unqualified for office.

That was a good question, thumbs up, but your picture is gross. ( ;

Sure why not,you and the Taliban would get along great you know that don't you? Because making a certain religion the state religion,and using the state to enforce religious belief has always worked so well,like the Inquisition,the Crusades,the Witch Trials. Yeah it's always a good idea to bring the state into the enforcement of religious dogma,it always ends so well. Kind of like prayer,we know that's always a good thing,without prayer the Crusades would have never gotten off the ground.

No...even God doesn't have anything to do with man's governments since Jesus preached to his disciples that they should have nothing to do with this world and it's things, which include world governments and kingdoms! No wonder you hear so many screaming for the separation of church and state! Soon, this will not be tolerated by the governments of the world when we enter the critical time the book of Revelation says the Harlot, representing religions involved in political affairs, will be thrown off the back of the Beast, which represents world powers or governments and kingdoms, and devoured!

How's the weather there in Afghanistan today?
=================
Margie, the United States is not a religious nation, let alone Christian. Religion is mentioned exactly twice in the Constitution, once to ban religious tests for public office and once to prohibit the government from making any laws concerning religion.

Neither "in God we trust" nor "one nation under God" were part of our nation's founding. Those phrases were added to money and to the Pledge of Allegiance later. The words were added to the Pledge in 1954 when the Congress decided to follow the Soviet Communists' lead and dictate religious beliefs to citizens. This is an obvious mistake, and clearly an un-American direction to take. Americans support freedom of religion, and I strongly suggest that you start to as well if you want to live here.

Of course not. Something like a persons faith could never be legislated and the faith would be meaningless if it were. Faith is a personal decision.

But lets get to the REAL meat of your question.... Should the US, if it had a Christian Majority (which it probably still does, but it's disappearing), use Christian morality when creating legislation, when electing our representatives, etc. To this I saw Absolutely.

Unfortunately, while this used to be a Christian nation, multiculturalism is diluting it to the point of meaninglessness and we are soon to become a minority. So through that precious multiculturalism, we are destroying our nations fabric.

No. The U.S. is not a theocracy as was ancient Israel, during the time of the prophets, judges and kings. If the U.S. were a theocracy, it is more likely than not it would be based on a WRONG religion rather than one based on the Bible. Plus we have no Bible authority for a theocracy nowadays.

Just as our forefathers believed, I believe we need a government that is not ANTI-religion (or anti-Christian) as seems to be the direction it often takes (the courts in particular), the government needs to be a supporter of the freedom of religion.

God bless America and all of its Allies!

The world will one day know the heavenly God untill then
We should pass on the world of God and teach other about God
And let the world take care of itself because the World hate what is God but if we teach the People in the World that all that matter because they belong to God. Remember Jesus said the world hated me before it hated you.
