i have a very high sex drive and have recently not wanted to resort to pornography, focusin all my sexual energy on my spouse.

So is it a sin to fantasize and long for your wife (or girlfriend etc) on days that she is not present? without and *Including masturbation*

and... i've heard pornography is idolatory, is that true?

*may athiests keep their opinions to themselves*

No!! It is not a sin to long for your wife when she is not present but how you handle that longing could be.... Masturbation is SELF gratification and porn. is also an entry way for devils to enter!! So beware, the devil is out there seeking whom he may devour, and has destroyed many marriages using these very same tactics. God Bless your marriage will be my prayer, you seem to love her very much just please DO NOT give the devil an open door or he will take your marriage

oh man what a pathetic life you must lead. Treading on moralistic eggshells for being a human being.
You must have an ulcer the size of a grapefruit.
I cannot imagine being so sexually repressed as to worry if I'm committing "adultery" with my own wife.
You have my pity you really do.
The only good thing is that you're showing the world what is so terribly wrong with your religion.
Most of the things I post to FSTDT.com (fundies say the darndest things.com) are funny and stupid. This time, It's just pathetic.
But that's how we get more and more people away from your childish cult, by pointing out the stupidity and the pathos in it.
Thanks for giving me a fine example to display.

Focusing sexual thoughts toward your wife is fine. Girlfriend is another thing altogether.

Masturbation is still frowned on by the Church, sorry.

Pornography could be idolotry and also adultery. Jesus did say to look on a woman with lust in your heart is the same as having committed adultery with her.

She's your wife! You should long for your wife and enjoy in the marriage (marry your girlfriend first). I don't know about pornography being idolatry but I'm sure you can go without it, right?

Good luck!

Sorry, not keeping my opinion to myself ... but giving honest answers based on your question. I grew up christian, if that helps any.

Well, technically ... what you're describing is lust, and that is most definately considered a sin.

As for the pornography, yes .. by some definitons it would be classified as worshipping false idols.

well all lust and longing and sex and all that isnt a good thing between unmarried couples. its wrong... im not perfect, i love god, but i sin too. me and my bf both feel strong about it being wrong, but we get very hot too.. id rather him think about me and lust for me and masturbate to the thought of me rather than a magazine or pic of other women or movies, porns. to me love is in your heart and when you love someone they are what you want. only them. and lookin at other women is cheating with the eyes. and all together im complicated and hard to get it out.
