Nah, even if it is written somewhere in any book that it is, it shouldn't be. It's a matter of freedom of speech and expression.

There's a big difference between "antagonizing" people and sincerely attempting to "get some answers." There's also a big difference between intentionally STARTING an argument and having an honest discussion unintentionally ESCALATE into an argument. It all comes down to your REAL motive. Are you honestly attempting to find out the truth, or are your questions, like the questions the Pharisees were always posing to Jesus in order to bait Him, nothing more than thinly veiled attempts to discredit the Son of God? Deep in your heart, you know the answer--and so does God!

It is a sin to provoke an argument and make someone angry, Instead, why not just nicely ask the question and if the person doesn't want to give you the answer forget it!

Iconoclast!

Knocking over other people's idols* can be an act of vandalism or a necessary way of drawing attention to a serious issue.

To do it to hurt, or because it feels good, or props up your own belief, now that's almost certain to be wrong.
If you can make the point or start the discussion without causing antagonism, you are almost certainly going to be better placed.

*or just throwing metaphorical bricks at them.

I don't find that in the list of sins.
However, we are told to live in peace with everyone in-as-much as it is possible.
So, if you are just trying to learn, you can do it in a manner that is not intended to irritate.
A person knows if you are sincerely interested in learning or just want to start an argument.
If you are really seeking information, you can phrase your question in a manner that is not combative.

I think it must be weighted, in the limits of general human values. As any other action. What is suitable in one context, may be very injuring in another and vice versa.

Arguments are one of our favorite pastimes. There's nothing wrong with them unless they get out of hand.

No, it's fun. Mind you, the more rabid churches consider fun to be a sin anyway, silly people.
