Losing weight too quickly is extremely unhealthy. Although you could starve yourself and lose nine pounds in a couple of weeks you can't do it in one week unless you eliminate everything including water. Once you start drinking again it would immediately show up on the scale IF you're still alive.
Quick weight loss, although fun, is dangerous and risky. When you lose more than 1.5 to 2.0 lbs. per week for more than a week or so you are losing muscle along with the fat. Besides losing muscle tone you're risking your heart and other major organs because they are also muscles. Another big issue is that when you lose too quickly you gain it back even more quickly than you lost it, generally adding a couple of extra pounds.
The only way to do it if you hope to keep it off is to eat sensibly, cutting out junk food, processed food and excess sugar. There are many ways to do it but whatever plan you choose should be a lifetime choice. If you go back to what you were eating prior to losing weight (many call this going back to "normal" eating) you'll just gain the weight back again. How do you think you gained it in the first place?
What concerns me the most regarding your question is that you believe that 10 lbs. has changed the way your husband feels about you. Believe me when I say that 10 lbs. cannot change love or respect. I would talk to him and try to figure out between the two of you what is really going on. Lose the weight if you like but don't think it's going to change your marriage.

I'm sorry to hear that you and your husband are having problems. I'm even more disappointed to hear that you think losing weight in a drastic and health threatening way will get your husband to "pay more attention to" you.
There is no healthy way to lose 9 lbs in one week. The Atkins diet will not do it, and neither will avoiding sweet and spicy foods!!! In order to lose 9lbs, you need to cut at least 31,500 calories from your diet. There is no healthy way to do that in one week.
What I would suggest instead is that you aim to lose 1-2lbs a week. Since each pound is 3500 calories, you would only need to cut about that amount out of your diet. The easiest ways to do that is - drink only diet soda, or water. Avoid fruit juices since they contain large amounts of calories. Eat steamed veggies, broiled or roasted meats with low fat. Exercise about 20-30minutes (at least) a day, which will burn some calories and make it easier to lose the weight. Good luck.

Girl! losing weight should be something that you do for your self ! If you lose weight for someone else, you will constantly be under pressure and you are more likely to gain back all the weight!!!
Whatever the case, if you are that desperate, I am going to give you a plan that worked for me! I lost 10 pounds in 1 week and a half (in order to be a size 3 for my birthday).
This is not for the faint of heart, but if you try this, you will definately succeed:
1. For the first day: fast! All you take is orange juice, your
vitamins and lots of water (I am talking about 5 litters in one
day)
2. Eat fruits like a grape fruit and a small banana for breakfast,
eat more fruits for lunch and and have a salad/peas for
dinner.
3. Do a lot of crunches or light exercise like jump ropes, through
out that time duration
4. Remain on a juice,fruits and vegetable diet for the entire week!
I did mine for a week and a half!
5.Never skip your vitamins and remember- there is no substitute
for water! nevertheless, drink a little coffee but more so
genseing for energy!
The key point of this diet is to detoxify and lose weight quickly! if you cheat, you will gain weight!
If you follow my instructions, you are guaranteed to lose a lot of weight and most importantly toxins from your body! (that way, you will not gain the weight back when you get back to eating healthy!)

Give your husband a blow up doll that looks like she weighs 126 and then meet me at Pizza Hut. Trust me, you don't need to lose wight to have your husband love you more. I was pregnant and weighed 180, and my fiance and I had more sex than ever. Then after I had my little girl and I was back down to my ALMOST normal weight, he cheated on me. Figure that one out. If you feel like your husband isn't paying attention to you, I'm almost positive its something else besides your weight. Oh, and by the way, I am 5'6 and I weigh 140 so it could be worse for you.

Buy yourself something that compliments your figure right now and makes you feel good.
