Actually its amazing to me that people believe the same God who created the Earth and all its variety and potential adventures, not to mention the mind bogglingly huge universe full of things to be discovered, would create a heavenly home for His bride that would be sort of an ethereal, boring place with harps, clouds and little tinkling noises. I think of a God who created the wild forests and awesome roaring seas. I think of a God who can make a simple biological process used in procreation, such a pleasurable experience that men and women often get so obsessed over it they destroy their own lives (men mainly) for more of it. I think of a God who made the heavens so beautiful a man could weep just beholding it; so big the universe can't contain Him. This same God has said what He has prepared for us in Heaven, "no eye hath seen, nor ear hath heard, nor has it even entered into the heart of man". Sometimes, it seems, the rarer as I get older, I think I get a quickening within myself as I begin to sense something of that other greater mode of existence that defies words to describe and my soul trembles. It might be nothing more than a breeze on a spring day that when I breathe it in I suddenly feel like I remember something that I have never known but feels like home (does that make sense?) just for an instant, and then it is gone. Oh, its going to be....greater than you or I can even imagine.
Believer...you have the quintessential perfect answer. Loads better than mine.

When I get where I'm going
on the far side of the sky.
The first thing that I'm gonna do
Is spread my wings and fly.
I'm gonna land beside a lion,
and run my fingers through his mane.
Or I might find out what it's like
To ride a drop of rain
Yeah when I get where I'm going,
there'll be only happy tears.
I will shed the sins and struggles,
I have carried all these years.
And I'll leave my heart wide open,
I will love and have no fear.
Yeah when I get where I'm going,
Don't cry for me down here.
I'm gonna walk with my grandaddy,
and he'll match me step for step,
and I'll tell him how I missed him,
every minute since he left.
Then I'll hug his neck.
So much pain and so much darkness,
in this world we stumble through.
All these questions, I can't answer,
so much work to do.
But when I get where I'm going,
and I see my Maker's face.
I'll stand forever in the light,
of His amazing grace.
Yeah when I get where I'm going,
there'll be only happy tears.
Hallelujah!
I will love and have no fear.
When I get where I'm going.
Yeah when I get where I'm going.

Heaven for the Christian will be a place of glorious life that will never end. Joy inexpressible, limitless peace, pure love, beauty beyond description—that's what heaven is. Greatest of all will be the presence of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, with whom we will enjoy fellowship forever. Loved ones who have known and loved the Lord will be there. Revelation 21:2 says, "And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband."
Heaven will be a place in which its inhabitants will be freed from the fears and insecurities that plague and haunt us in the present life. No energy crisis there ... Free from the economic and financial pressures that burden us down here. Free from the fear of personal and physical harm ... No fear of personal failure ... Our relationship with Him will be intimate and direct. I'm looking forward to that glorious day of going to heaven.
"Heaven will be what we have always longed for. It will be the new social order that men dream of. All the things that have made earth unlovely and tragic will be absent in heaven. There will be no night, no death, no disease, no sorrow, no tears, no ignorance, no disappointment, no war. It will be filled with happiness, worship, love, perfection and other good qualities. Heaven will be a place to challenge the creative genius of the unfettered mind of redeemed man." Revelation 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."
However, the Bible makes clear that there is only one way to heaven, and that is through repentance from sin and faith in Jesus Christ who said, "I am the way ..." (John 14:6). Jesus paid for our sins through His death on the cross. God offers us the free gift of friendship with Him in this life and eternal life in heaven when we die if we will but turn from sin and trust in Jesus as our Savior and Lord. "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved ..." (Acts 16:31).

Lets see ... A bright, vibrant, and physical New Earth, free from sin, suffering, and death, and overflowing with Christ's presence, wondrous natural beauty, and the richness of human culture as God intended it. Real people enjoying close relationships with God and each other, eating, drinking, working, playing, traveling, worshiping, and discovering on a New Earth. Earth as God created it. Earth as he intended it to be! Maybe some occasional harp strumming ...

Be about my fathers business. I am sure we will have our same likes and talents (just more perfect) and will enjoy doing the kinds of things we now enjoy. There will just be more time to do what we enjoy doing. I think we will all have the perfect job for us.
