my kitten ( 9 ) months came in heat around 12-1-06 for the 1st time it lasted about a week. now it is 12-15-06 and she is acting like she is in heat again why is this? and how often do cats come into heat and how long does it last . thank you

Kitties stay in heat for a few days every couple of weeks till they get either spayed or bred. Be her pal and have her fixed. She is not having fun being in heat (I'm sure you can tell by the way she acts). Good luck!

Cats tend to go in and out of heat regularly during the breeding season and can last anywhere up to 10 days.
The best thing is to get your cat desexed. Being in heat isn't an enjoyable experience.

Get her into a vet's office and get her spayed. She'll be in heat every 2-3 weeks until you do. It lasts longer and longer as she gets older, too. I ought to know and learned my lesson with my Sassy.
